Painting is my main weapon in amplifying women’s voice. I use my imagination and creativity using social artistry to create an impact and be a voice for the voiceless women in our society. My interest in and work on women and children’s empowerment concepts inspired me to create artworks out of the stories of women. Through paintings I want to make public the voices of migrant women and their children, and testify to the issues that affect them but which the general public does not know fully about, I am not a good speaker but my painting speaks for my people. Breaking the silence through ART!

Since last year, I’ve been doing Empowerment Through Art, conducting art workshops, therapy and exhibitions locally and internationally, last year it was only me, yes I was alone, but this year I am jubilant and grateful to introduce Team ETA. I am amazed how people connect, how people from different places and directions has chance to meet not knowing having the same goal in life. Is it by chance? or is it destiny? I believe that there is always a perfect time for everything, time of loneliness being alone and confused and a time of joy being with the group of passionate people, sharing gifts without hesitation. I am thrilled to introduce Team ETA, we are composed of seven people, different careers but have the same passion in life, which is ART. – Yllang

Painting herself bare-skinned in her projects, she tries to expose her own messy and complicated self and found this an enthralling experience to show a woman’s equal parts - from fierce to vulnerable, mysterious to exposed, timid to bold. Despite being a full-time private employee that is far from her field of interest, she still finds time to draw and paint to develop and pursue her passion and also serves as her escape from her everyday struggles.
