Invitation to cosponsor a symposium on diaspora at Fordham University this fall called Turning Tides: A Symposium on Diasporic Literatures

Hi all,

I got this invitation to our group via my email and am sharing it here and sending it to some of the PotoFanm+Fi members in NY. I think it looks great. They are seeking our co-sponsorship, which as you will see, implies giving visibility to this event, not money. Is there anyone OPPOSED to co-sponsorship. How do folks feel about saying Yes to doing that? Please reply to the group here at World Pulse by Thursday if you can with your thoughts. Merci - AC

To Whom it May Concern:

I'm writing because I am helping to organize a symposium on diaspora at Fordham University this fall called Turning Tides: A Symposium on Diasporic Literatures and we're currently looking for organizations to co-sponsor. I wonder if this is something Poto Fanm+Fi might be interested in.
By co-sponsorship, I mean publicity, not money. Co-sponsors would help spread the word about the symposium to their members and, in turn, if they wanted to send us event or meeting flyers, informational pamphlets, newsletters, or other literature, we would be happy to make those available at the event. We already have a number of sponsors, including the Academy of American Poets, Poetry Society of America, and National Ethnic Studies Association. This exciting event will feature preeminent scholars and creative writers from Haiti, The Philippines, and Puerto Rico and will conclude with a poetry reading and reception.

More on the Symposium can be found here: http://turningtides.squarespace.com/

Please let me know if you are interested and, if you have any questions about the symposium, do not hesitate to contact me at amcalderon@gmail.com.

Best,
