New Mentoring Opportunity - a Girl or a Community

Dear our supporters and followers,
We are happy to inform you that we are now supporting 108 youths; 103 girls and 5 boys from Tororo and Buteleja districts in secondary schools and tertiary levels of education with support from individuals across the globe.
Most of them recently reported back to school after a one month holidays and wonderful time with their families and friends.
Open Circle http://www.open-circle.org of the Wellesley Centers for Women, Wellesley College in partnership with our NGO, the Pearl Community Empowerment Foundation - http://pce-foundation.org recently conducted Life Skills trainings for/with 102 members of the community.
Thirty two (32) of these youths, 34 primary school teachers, 36 parents benefited from these trainings between April 29 to May 9, 2014.

I take the same opportunity to share with you an opportunity to mentor and or sponsor one or more of the very impoverished rural Ugandan girls/communities.
This time of the year we are considering the mentorship in two ways;

One of them is becoming a sponsor of her education (secondary and tertiary) while mentoring her; helping her achieve her dream and a better future.
You have the opportunity to communicate with her through snail mails, skype calls, video exchanges and or visit with her, family and the community you will be supporting.
It does not cost so much to become a mentor and a sponsor. The following are the costs for different schools;

USD 489 per year; 163 per term for three terms (includes School fees, letter postage)

USD 900 per year; 300 per term for three terms (includes School fees, requirements, medical, transport, letter postage, administration)

USD 1282.88 per year, 454.96 per term for three terms (A combination Secondary and Vocational school and skills)

University costs USD 1600 per year; 800 per semester for two semesters.

The second way is by offering trainings; a couch or a trainer for these girls and the youths or the parents of rural Tororo and Buteleja district of eastern Uganda, especially during the school breaks (Late April to Early May, Late July to Early August and late November through early January).

The trainings may include Life Skills trainings, Leadership Skills, Academic Seminars, Communication skills, Talent promotion, or farming and Agricultural skills, entrepreneurship, parenting and so on.
