Taking the bold step out of the shell

For so long I dream of having my own foundation that cares for the less privileged, empowering Youths and Women by training them and giving them Start-up capital for them to be independent and be able to support their families.

Hmm, but how?  Will this dream just remain in my belly? No way!

Let me let you into my private life a bit so you can get a glimpse of what I am talking about. When I was young, I hawked or will sell different things to support my family. My parent would go without food but ensure we had food to eat,  forget about balance diet, I only read that in school. If not because my family's core value is education I would have been a primary drop out. There were times that my mother will have to pack her clothes to sell in order to pay our school fees. Thank God, I now hold Bsc. Accounting.

I started working in the year2011, I could barely survive but I thought to start a Masters program in Management in the year2013. Then, I met this young and beautiful girl who just lost her mom and I was ask to take her with me. I had to forfeit my admission to be able to sponsor her education and well-being. I thank God she is in her final year in the University, groomed and grown to be a more confident woman now. No regrets, as a matter of fact, she is more than a sister to me and I cherish her. We have few others that we work with like that.  In this environment I live in, it's difficult to bottle in my passion to impact lives as abject poverty has overshadowed many lives and dreams.

The fulfillment in impacting lives positively is overwhelming. Thou I was concerned about what people will say like we(myself and my husband)  don't have what it takes but I owe myself the fulfillment of my dream.

One step at a time. I love the fact that we are able to enroll beautiful Patricia 8years old who had never been in school before  in nursery school and support few others in secondary schools and university.

I realise nothing or no one  can stop you from achieving your goals except yourself.

Thank you for taking your time to read my first post.
