Introducing myself and my journal: Ugsadan

About Me:
I am an independent consultant for almost five years now specializing on Gender and Development in Governance. My commitment to gender equality is not just a work but a personal crusade. My commitment started when part of my work as a local government employee way back in 1991 was to introduce Women in Development (WID) in the communities and local governance structures and institutions. From WID, it becomes Women and Development, then Gender in Development and eventually the local, regional and national network for women empowerment in the Philippines adopted the Gender and Development framework. Thus, in 1995 our local inter agency committee adopted the GAD framework, until now. I take pleasure in understanding GAD concepts and principles as I see, observe and experience it in my daily lives as well as that of my environment along with my fellow local gender advocates. My favorite development quotation is " Development is about living a full and satisfying life where every woman/girl has the capacity to do and capacity to BE!

My Passions:
Nurturing ideas

My Vision for the Future:

My Areas of Expertise:
