Posted July 15, 2011 from Uganda

About Me: I am a practiing advocate in the Courts of Judicature in Uganda. I have always had a passion of giving back o the community becasue it is such a rewarding feeling and it has always been my passion. After working in various law firms i voluntere in an NGO to provide legal aid to the vulnerable and marginlaised people in the commuinty and i managed to change the lives of owmen simplying by sensitizing them on their rights and also assiting many of them get justice in the courts of law in Uganda. I am still passionate about my work and i am currently working with a minority groups of women who belong to tha batwa community. These women face a two fold discrimintaion first becasue they are from a minority group and secondly becausue they are women. In adition to being discriminated by the surrounding comminities they are discrminated within their own ocmmunity. So our goal is to be the voice of these women and empower them on their rights.

My Passions: To fight for the rights of the marginalised women and chidlren

My Challenges: Trying to fight the different cultres in Uganda

My Vision for the Future: To see a world free from discrimnation

My Areas of Expertise: Legal, Advocacy and Human rights

    Hello from World Pulse, Akiddu.

You have reached out to World Pulse, and we are grateful for your presence.

I act as a volunteer World Pulse welcomer for new WP members and listener for other journal entries. This is some of the most exciting and rewarding work I've ever done. Through this effort, I have become a world volunteer.

I am wondering whether you have found any World Pulse efforts that really stir you to action. Our searchable site has so many examples of females empowering each other through education and encouragement, that there is certain to have inspiration for all.

We'd love to hear from you again.
