Introducing myself and my journal: My Journey with all of you

About Me:
I am 58 years old. I am gay and have been living openly for 40 years. I lived in California most of my life. I have worked non-traditional jobs, often being the first woman_________. My favorite American historical figure is Harriett Tubman.Freeing herself from slavery and coming back to help others is quite admirable. I have been a crusader for social and economic justice. Also for our Mother earth.

I started a shelter for domestic violence victims and spent 6 years helping women and their children be safe and begin a new life. Five years I worked with my mother Marilyn creating and marketing our English language reading, writing and spelling program. So many children were struggling with learning to read- children in poverty, gifted children, English language learners and Special Education, Marilyn and another Montessori teacher and other retired teachers created a new program using the best practices of 80 combined years in the classroom. I want to keep it going.
