April is Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month.

Yesterday marked the first day of April. It was filled with jokes and laughs but it also marked the beginning of something else that is no laughing matter.

April is Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month.

Many organizations are taking to the streets to educate, inspire and demand action.

The organization at the forefront of this is the international advocacy nonprofit United to End Genocide. During the month of April, United to End Genocide will be partnering with a variety of organizations around the United States to plan events and create awareness.

Walk to End Genocide will be taking place in Washington, DC on Sunday April 26th. Join the United to End Genocide team, join a team with another organization you support or create another team of your own. Get involved and participate in one of the many events that will be occurring around the United States throughout the month of April. Find out more information about the walk in DC here: https://dc.walktoendgenocide.org

There will also be a March an April 17th to Protect the People of Darfur. United to End Genocide will be teaming up with Amnesty’s “Get on the Bus for Human Rights” day of action for a protest outside of the Sudanese mission in New York City. To RSVP for this event sign up on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/755133071273770/

Aren’t near DC or New York? Find out about events that are occurring new you here or show your support by being a virtual walker.
