Commit ▪ Act ▪ Demand: We CAN End Violence Against Women!

Gender violence is an issue that we all need to take part in to resolve, since it touches the lives of many more than those directly being violated. Being a survivor of abuse myself, I can say from experience that this problem perpetuates itself the more it is hidden. We are all responsible in ending the violence against women--men and women, survivors and perpetrators, and it is time to address this problem publicly, on a global scale. We can no longer ignore gender violence.

Since I moved to Brazil in September 2008, I have been motivated to help others who are in a place of need, particularly women and children who are suffering from domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse. The resources here are limited, but do exist. It is my sense of responsibility that has brought me to collect all the information I could find and create a blog listing resources for women and children who are looking to denounce violence and free themselves from abuse. On the blog you will find hotline numbers, shelter information, NGOs and governmental organizations who can help families get the help they need.

This movement requires the activism of everyone in order to end gender violence. If you are in Brazil and are looking to escape from a situation of abuse, please visit my blog for more information:
