My Personal Asset Map

\"Last
Last year we paid a courtesy visit to Cardinal Okogie of Nigeria. It was the first such outing for many of the children. They had not been to such an executive place before and they were really overwhelmed.
\"Here
Here is the orphanage building which started in January 2015. With support from friends and family, the work has come this far. Now, we are left with the internal fitting, finishing and furnishing before we can commence operation. The economic recession in Nigeria has been largely responsible for the stalled progress. However, we are hopeful that all these will be done before December 2016

As we wrap up this training, I must confess that the last three weeks have been thoroughly exciting for me. I have met and sisters with whom I have bonded so well; we have shared experiences as family; we have supported and encouraged one another and I have been strengthened and encouraged. Today, I feel like a superwoman; all thanks to the love and support of my World Pulse family!

My greatest asset is my relationship with my God and Maker. He is the reason I am who I am. Through fellowship with Him and His people, I am continuallyrenewed. Life makes meaning with Him and through Him. I have equally enjoyed deep and enriching fellowship with fellow believers at various levels- church, prayer fellowship, women'sprayer group, old school mates, charity partners, highly supportive volunteers in humanitarian servicesand so many others.

I count myself one of the most fortuante women on earth: the reason being that I am blessed with great people with the heart of gold.My greatestasset is my family (both immediate and extended family). We identify with one another at all times and in all situations and this helps me to always find a shoulder to lean on. So, each burden is lighter asI travel along to fulfil purpose.

Secondly, I have an insatiable passion to love, protect and care for orphans and vulnerable children. This I have done in the last 13 years under the platform of my NGO- Bestspring Children & Youth Development Foundation and today, I am overjoyed as I see children/youths whose lives have been transformed and positively impacted; kids who were picked from the dregs of society without hope of a better life but today have assumed an A-grade status; beaming with smiles and the assurance of a brighter future. Nothing can be more fulfilling! Their smilesignite so much strength and fire! They are my world! Pictures 2 and 4 shows the OVC on our care list at our meetings and during a courtesy visit to one of our sponsors- Cardinal Anthony Okogie.

In addition, we recently embarked on an orphanage building project and eventhough it has drained us financially, there is joy in knowing that it is near completion and the home (Bestspring Orphanage) will be commissioned this December. It is a miracle and I am optimistic that every provision needed to complete the building and furnish it will be divinely supplied. Picture 2 shows the building from the outside in its near completion stage.

Another great asset is the professional group to which I belong. I am a member of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and we remain a formidable team in championing the cause of women in Nigeria through the media. Picture 4 shows the members of NAWOJ during a recent sensitization walk to speak against domestic violence.

In addition, I recently founded a mentoring program for young and aspiring journalists named Fresh Journalists Network.Sharing with them has been enriching! Picture 5 shows members of FJN at a mentoring session.

My philosophy in life is simple- Heal the world! Make it a better place for all!
