A Temporary Dweller at My Home

“Stay away from the cat and don’t try to feed it anymore” my elder sister frowned at me while she was scolding me and made feeding the cat as a reason of my sickness. I did not know that my summer time will be the busiest time in feeding and talking with the cat and its new born baby. From my childhood, I have a great attraction to cats, they looked so lovely to me. Which is why, whenever I used to go to my village home, my all cousins made fun of me telling “hey, Mukta (my nick name), see who has come to search you, your cat mother.” Nothing could not change my mind. I still have the same affection towards them. Though it may sound funny to others, I will not ashamed to tell. As I passed time with the cat and its new born baby, I realized there was silent communication bridge was made between us as if the mother cat seemed troubled and anxious at the scarcity of words exchange between us. It was she who smiled at my small talk, and pried at my home to see whether I am at home or not. I also felt the same feeling as after coming back to home, I rushed over the window to see what they were doing. I kept my portion of fish to feed them and talked day in and day out with them. I felt myself specially recognized to her, as she never had the fear coming to me; whereas she never comes to other members of my family. I was delighted thinking about the intimacy we made within a short period of time. I wondered to think how an animal can build intimacy with humans through understanding silence words of expression. At the same time, I became worried to think about what will happen with them, when I will not be here. After three more days, then I have to leave for my campus. I did not tell about my departure to her as I felt there were so many words were still unknown between us.
