Congratulations President Barrack Obama!

As the inauguration of President Barrack Obama goes on in Washington DC,colorful events go on in different parts of Kenya.A big celebration ( almost as big as the Washington one) has been hosted at the University of Nairobi.Lots of talks have been given.Inspiring speeches.Every Kenyan looked at the Presidency of Obama as a new window to our lives, never to shy away from trying when it seems impossible, when it has never been done by somebody else. The celebration was climaxed with colorful fireworks.

At Kogelo,Obama's rural village, one would have thought that this was the actual inauguration center,Washington DC.There was speeches and dance. There was plenty of food for everyone.I recalled the day of the elections in the USA.We had ours in Kenya. And now our own inauguration ceremony too! What we may not duplicate is having a concurrent president ruling along, but who knows?

Many Kenyans are giving this a thought: about Obama being the President of The Republic of Kenya after completing his term in the US!

We have been keenly following the goings on in the United States of America. We as Kenyans,as members of the universe, are proud to have Obama as President of the USA.

Many of us shed tears of happiness,as the President gave his speech."...this is the meaning of liberty, who we are and where we have come from...." and went on to talk about a journey of no short cuts.We all of us have to learn from this.

Congratulations President Barrack Obama,on this day of your inauguration! You have given us new hope, and shown us the possibility of possibilities. We are following in your footsteps.
