Tina-a woman of great inspiration!

Posted July 9, 2009 from Kenya

She is warm, and working with her is a lovely experience.

Tina,36,is married with two children.

Some of her favourites reads include Anam Cara by John O' Donohue and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Tina works for Mothers Acting Up,an organization uniting mothers to advocate on behalf of the world's children. She atarted as a volunteer community orgarnizer in 2003 and currently works as the project coordinator for their guidebook to advocacy. She also assists with some graphic design and their development and outreach. She is sometimes referred to as MAU’s Jill of all Trades Maven!

I learn, with admiration, that they also empower women to empower others!

"Mostly I love to work on the inspiration part. I love feeling like I can capture an audience through words and images into thinking about something in an entirely new way Tina says of her work, I am proud of my work with MAU through the years. I have assisted them with their national collective action campaigns and other programs, inspiring and mobilizing tens of thousands of women throughout the US to take a stand on behalf of the world’s children".

she is blessed to count many achievements to date: Raising two beautiful boys who care for each other, their friends and the world has been her greatest achievement so far. Also, being here on World Pulse, finding her voice and learning how to use it, moving to America, and finally her degree

Auma, I've had the pleasure to dialogue with Tina and knowing more about her from your post gives me a fuller understanding of her. From your post, I checked out Mothers Acting Up, which looks like a powerful organization. Tina is a impassioned woman and you've captured her essence well.

    Thanks Auma. Warmly, Laura

    Hey there,

I'm happy your interviewed Tina, I read her profile and some of her posts. She seems like a wonderful person. Since I'm a bookworm, I love reading about what other people read, it tells a lot about them! I also love the secret garden:)

It was also great to read about MAU! Tina seems so passionate about it!

Your piece was short, but you managed to paint a very clear image of Tina, her life and her passion for her work. Kizzie

    Hi Leah,

First of all... so good to hear your voice again! Did your laptop get fixed? We missed you. And I am so excited for you in this journey - that as World Pulse's first Correspondent, you have the chance to go through the training as well.

As for the interview with Tina - this is a wonderful and intimate look into her life as an activist, professional, mother, writer and reading enthusiast. I just love reading these bios as I get to know all of you in a much more intimate way!

    Hugs, Jade
