Discovering myself through Interfaith Relations.
Jan 21, 2015
First story
I am a student at Westminster College in Salt Lake City UT, USA where I am studying psychology. I am very passionate in helping others. Little by little I am becoming the voice for those who are voiceless. I am an active member in my community. During the last two years, I have become an advocate for interfaith relations. I believe that the more we know about each other the more we learn about ourselves. I am working with two organizations in this effort, Interfaith Youth Core (www.ifyc.org) and the Interfaith Roundtable of Salt Lake City (www.interfaithroundtable.org).
Working interfaith has taught me that I always have to collaborate with everyone, even if I am not comfortable with their opinions. However, it has helped me to understand what my weaknesses and strengths are. I know what makes me uncomfortable and what not. In other words, I am breaking the walls that have been placed for me by me and others. I am proud to say that I am becoming a better leader, a better listener and a better citizen of the world. I am proud of what I do, and if I have to do it all over again, I will never hesitate in traveling the journey I have done.
Please consider working interfaith and you can see how much we have in common instead of finding what makes us different.
