Introducing myself and my journal: Enterprising women

About Me:
I am passionate about promoting ethical ways of doing business that support local communities. My expertise is in the field of community-based and social entrepreneurship, in particular with women. I have set up and worked within enterprise programmes that promote women's enterprise in areas of the UK that have experienced serious economic decline. My PhD research highlighted the experiences of women of Bengali origin developing micro-businesses in an area of London that has large numbers of families living in poverty.

Currently I am in the early stages of developing an ethical online-trading model that will help women to establish micro-businesses and trade globally.

I also teach business school university undergraduates.

My Passions:
ethical business models

My Challenges:
to influence the uptake of a caring form of economics

My Vision for the Future:
a world where poverty is eradicated and where all women experience social, economic and political equality

My Areas of Expertise:
women's commuity-based entreprenurship
