About Me: I am a young woman in leadership. Currently serving as a county minister in the county government of Busia, Kenya. I head the docket of Public Service, ICT and Intergovernmental Relations. I am proud to hold this position at the age of 31 years. Prior to this I was a regional project manger of East and Southern Africa, in an organization called world renew. I have a strong passion for advocating for women's rights and empowerment. As a human rights and social justice advocate, I strongly believe that progression of any society is anchored on the level of freedom respect and awareness on women's rights. I have worked on issues of women's rights for the last eight years, from helping women to acquire land to empowering them on gender based violence and negative social issues that hinder women from realizing their full potential. Besides this I run a mentorship program for women of various ages to help them define a course and to equip them with basic skills and confidence to pursue them. I am also a topical writer.

My Passions: Writing and voicing

My Challenges: Fighting culture and stereotypes of the status quo in advancing women's rights at a young age in leadership.

My Vision for the Future: Create more spaces and opportunities for women to pursue leadership at the highest level possible in different sectors through empowering women to explore their full potential

My Areas of Expertise: Public management, Women's rights, Writing

Hi Bernadette, Welcome to WP. You are at the right place to voice the voices of the women you have been championing their course in various fora. I love your journal title 'Suffocated to survive'. I believe you will always survive no matter how much you are suffocated. This happens to women so often and because we have enormous strength we have emerged conquerors.

Thank you Eunice and Susan, I am so confident that it is possible. Mine is to usher more and more women to believe that although the road is usually tough, it is still possible.
