Introducing myself and my journal: Soft Awakening

About Me:
Sometimes I am a warm, bold voice; a clear bell of song striking in unison with my desires for freedom, connection and justice. Sometimes I am a cold and clammy fear of my own memories, a tightly coiled infant in a womens body; wounded, untrusting and refusing to enter the places inside that connect me with my creativity; my ability to transform fear into growth.

This is why I have planted 'Singing to the Sky'; a project for inspiring and sharing women's creative potential.

Creativity generates self-belief and that inner-confidence is where all our hopes for a more compassionate world begin. Contacting that place inside that allows us to open all those essential parts of ourselves that we have been taught to be ashamed of takes courage. We become vulnerable where before we were defensive. We take a risk everytime we truly make contact with our creative potential because that place is completely unique, there is no certainty of what we may discover.

Sharing those discoveries is the biggest risk we will take in our lives. It is only when we share from that inner stirring toward movement that what we offer is truly our own. So we are exposed.

We could spend our days reacting to an outer stimulas. However noble that stimulas is, it will always keep us protected because we will be acting with a purpose and direction not our own. Or we could listen to the stirrings from within, then respond. When we speak from that centre- whatever happens, happens to us- not some idea of who we are, but us. If it hurts, it hurts more... if it inspires, it penetrates to the core... and when we connect, when we reach out and touch the world, we are touching from the truest part of who we are. Then and only then do we understand what it means to belong.
