uplifting independent economic status of women followed by education will bring revolutionary change

It was about four decade ago when gender violence was not even issue in our part of the world.I would like to share a few experience of that time.At that time there were few incident of gender violence which were solved socially and politically. In those days such incident of gender violence were not extreme and did not get media coverage.
In 1976, i had a experience of participant in student political movement and result of which i was arrested and stayed in prison for nine month. There were twenty eight other women in prison who had committed or were accused of veraciously crime including attempted murder because saving from rape attempt, some one had kicked out from husband and family turned out life of crime, there because family had false accusation and mental disorder. Many of them was there because they did not get legal aid, since there was no individual or organization who take such cases in humanitarian ground. These thing shows extreme gender discrimination and gender violence general tendency in the society.Since that time there has been lot of changes and in general excepted as major issue by the society and world. How ever this acceptance mostly visible urban area of the third world country.Women of rural sector still face the same fate.In fact it has increase over time carrying out few days seminar and workshop in luxurious hotel in city has not and will not have any positive effect on the life of woman of rural sector. In my opinion and based upon observation a sustainable, focused and strong effort targeted specifically on the rural sector has to be lunched. The first and foremost objective effort should be uplifting independent economic status of women followed by education and awareness with political commitment. This will bring revolutionary change in the mindset of rural society.
