"Oh! The Greed Of My Home Land"

Oh Mother Africa! ! Your greatness had made the world a world indeed. Your people and your resources, they are all great and good. The hands of God made them so good. But greed! Oh senseless greed! Has brought injustice and destroyed African Love and peace.

Africa now lives in destruction by its own.. Africa has no peace nor unity.. Africa Fights itself.

How can a place so blessed become so curse over night? How do we enjoy the beauty therein, when all we feel is fear of what tomorrow may bring? How do the youths live upto their potentials when the air around them is sickening?  What happened to the love we once shared?

Greed! Oh greed!!  You have stolen the consciousness of our humanity, You have embedded in us hearts that feel no remorse , You have plated steels of deception in our minds, You've turned fathers against children , brothers against brothers, students against teachers, pastors against Christians and even individuals against themselves.

My heart bleeds when I look around and see a shadow of a nation once blessed.  It bleeds more when I see the untapped potentials of its youthful population go to waste.  It shatters into pieces when I see young promising destinies ebb away at the brake of dawn.

These may just be the words of a young senseless girl, Who as the elders will say \"Knows nothing about the History of her nation\" I may not have experienced  the past as they have , but isn't that what History classes were there for? Oh! Yes now I remember,  thesame History classes that taught me World History so much so I felt I was from the West. How many Europeans, Americans etc. make African or Cameroon History a whole  subject in schools? Let me leave that there.

Yes I may not know much about the past as the elites do, but I am leaving in the present.  The present I see, is characterised by hate (whether founded or unfounded ). It is full of pain, tears of the innocent and anguish in the hearts of the weak. Oh! How much more pain will our senseless greed birth in our society?

Ignore my words... But don't ignore your truth,  For that will be Greed shooting it's ugly head again.

The Greed of My Home Land breathes havoc which many are blind to. LET THERE BE PEACE!!
