Web 2.0 An Experience

It has been my wish to be a published author. Web 2.0 is availing me with the opportunity to realize my long time dream to become a writer, an editor, a publisher and a Citizen Journalist. Wow! What a wonderful experience.
The Computers, the internet, the exchange of ideas, making new friends and being a journalist all in one! The readership is readily available from people who have devoted their time for that. Imagine! It enables me to receive feedback from a wide network of social networkers, who also share the same zeal, passion, gender and enthusiasm to make their voices heard. Web 2.0 proves that we are really living in a global village since there are no stumbling fences of predetermined borders to separate us. Everyone is welcome and we share ideas and inform our fellows. What a great experience! All this is exciting about Web 2.0.
In many societies, women are regarded as voiceless. They are the inferior sex and this translates to them not being placed in places of authority for decision making purposes. Web 2.0 has brought an answer to that. It has given us the opportunity to hear each others’ stories from the grassroots. Most of them are first hand experiences. Web 2.0 is combining technology by amplifying the voices of the weak into mighty words of power, able to change people’s voices thus strengthening relationships of women and increasing the rate at which information is disseminated thus helping with the emergence of a powerful voice from a once voiceless, hushed and squeaky voice. With Web 2.0 comes social change and the uplifment of women’s lives. Web 2.0 provides the woman with the resources needed to aid our growth and it supports us to further realize our goals as women, dreams and visions. It is helping by taking our concerns to another platform where there is always a shoulder to lean on and distance is no barrier but our strength because the greater the geographical distance amongst us the better the chances of a wide social network and listeners and you never know where help might come from in that circle. What an initiative! What a solution! We can now be heard!
Web 2.0 is an empowering experience for every woman who comes across it. It gives you friends through social networking. It gives you a ready readership. It gives you a chance to get published and become an editor and have a wide readership. It makes change to take place. It exposes those bad practices in our societies and brings them to a halt. It helps people to become more computer literate and use all other tiny bits we often ignore like tagging, blogging, online forums and others. Thanks to web 2.0 those things are very real and useful. I now have an idea Egypt. I always read about Egypt in the bible and through Web 2.0 initiative I was able to know more about that historical country. The benefits are countless.
