Women'sNet

Johannesburg, South Africa: I have landed my feet at Women'sNet, a feminist organisation that works to advance gender equality and justice in South Africa through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

This is part of my journey to empowerment after having completed the VOF training programme. I will be in South Africa until Novemebr this year.

My journey started on Friday 11 June 2010 - the same day when the world cup soccer matches kicked off in South Africa. I could hear the 'vuvuzela', the singing and shouting and this send so much excitement which flowed in my blood like a bolt of lightening. Yes, I could feel it and after all this madeness ends i will say, "I was there."

There is so much happening here that i will share with you particularly on how Women's'sNet is using ICT to strategically create a society where women and girls are equal participants and agents of social change.

Til then
