Johannesburg: Illegal Zimbabweans residing in South Africa now live in fear following reports that December 31, 2010 has been marked as the deadline for them to acquire proper documentations to enable them to live and work in South Africa. Thousands of desperate women and children who fled the political instability and the economic chaos in the country are now being forced to retrun home. Many fear for their lives.

Truly a sad outcome that
Truly a sad outcome that illustrates the need for really why immigrants come into a country and further not dismiss them as a group as a whole but regard each immigrant on an individual basis. Furthermore, we, as an international community, need to replace the negative connotations related to immigrants with positive. Here, in the US, we look at immigrants as a burden making us fear them rather than seeing foreigners as a change of economic and social property, creating a new vision of diversity.

The same thing all over ... Romanians are discriminated in Norway (I heard a beautiful poem written by a Romanian girl living in Norway highlighting the situation) ... in the Caribbean - Guyanese are the ones who receive the short end of the stick, and a similar policy was implemented last year in Barbados to get rid of Guyanese, never mind we are supposed to be operating in a single market and economy space here called CARICOM
