International Women's Day commemorations

Dear community members,

It is that time of the year again when millions of people worldwide join hands to commemorate the International Women's Day (IWD), an annual event that is observed every 8th of March.

This year's theme is “Equal rights, equal opportunities: Progress for all”. I therefore invite all community members to join hands in celebrating this special day through active participation.

I encourage you to use your journals to share with the rest of the community what you have planned and to report on what you have done. By so doing we will be creating our colective calendar of activities for 2010 activities and our journals will speak for themsleves the amazing work that we are all doing to make the lives of women in our communities better.

I therefore invite you to speak with one collective voice this year to mark the 2010 Internations Women's Day.
