At the heart of it

As I get more familiar with Pulsewire I'm begging to see what an amazing community this is and how many resources are at our fingertips when we come together! Right now my friend Belinda has returned to her rural community of Sanyati and is in the process of finding land to purchase to establish and office and eventually develop a community center. All of this feels so over my head; I know nothing about buying land, land use laws, and the process of getting approved as a nonprofit for purchasing land. I do know that she has to present her organization and purpose to the local council before she can purchase land. She also needs to open a bank account and figure out tax exemption. When you've never done this before the learning curve is very steep and it can be very intimidating. But we both keep persevering and I know that regardless of how much time it takes and how many obstacles we face, with time the dream WILL be realized.

If anyone has any experience with buying land or using land for nonprofit purposes, please let me know if you have any insight or advice or resources that could help us. I know Belinda has met with ZIMRA (Zimbabwe Revenue Authority) and the project proposal is completed which should make the presentation fairly straightforward. It's just a matter of trying and learning.
