Alma Abierta
is an Education and Training Center for Women
in ICT, Economic Empowerment, Networking and Sustainability

Our center is a social and community business in start-up phase that began in early 2014 inspired several volunteer with homeless people, environmental protection, and digital championships actions on empowerment, education and status of women in the world today.

Designed for Latina Women but open as a global exchange platform

Alma Abierta proposed Education Services with a holistic and integrated view on the development of women; creating spaces for communication that train and empower members to be Community Change Makers too.

The hole of education we work to resolve is:

Lack of Free and Open education
Lack e-learning for women economic empowerment specifically concentrated in the development of skills and talents to promote ICTs access and creation related to sustainability, environment as generators of economic opportunities.

The advantages of Alma Abierta/ Global Education and Training on-line Center are:

Generate online activism
 Ensure through a cluster of knowledge of online platforms and networking space that all women have free training and access these tools.
Dissemination of the potential of ICT and the power of information resources available-easy access to economic, social and civil empowerment of women.
 Building bridges in the digital divide for women and knowledge networks.
Promote open access to the technological revolution and digital connection.
 The ability to advance the digital empowerment and education regardless of age, region, religion or level of education.
The ecosystem supports e-learning provides beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Strengthen the role of women as social actors and their ability to intervene and influence in public life.
 To increase the participation of women in all areas of social life.
Give power and reach the Women's Collective to develop through training initiatives and produce advances in network joining the defense of Women Rights to local, regional and international level: a form of collective participation that serves for women to control their own lives improve their communities driving change and a high positive impact.
 Ensure control and power of information; generating content, products and services "for and to more women."

The advantages of “Collective” Alma Abierta are:

Generate active participation of Mayan women as agents of change.
 Train them in kwee rights and about the place now occupied in the world; that are easily accessi through technology and digital education.
Building digital and knowledge networks between Mayan women of Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Chiapas to strengthen the development of incubator projects and Telecentre formation in Playa del Carmen as ICT community initiative: open classroom, community radio and Maya community & e-learning center exchange.
 Connect to revive their ancient maya culture, make it knows by mayan language, stories, traditions, food and natural designs.
Bring ecotourism to the world with the spread of products and social community activities.
 Teach maya women to build their micro businesses.
Promote community agriculture, reuse of waste and use of renewable energies.
 Closing the gender gap through recreational activities integration.
Instilling the value of women in biodiversity integrated Sustainability, Care environment & work into Climatic Change.

The amount of time taken to develop the business idea is extensive: more than 10 months, 1800 hours.
* In the process an inquiry into the needs of co-management between organizations, actors and gender policies to lift marginalized communities was performed.
 Participation in networking, seminars and workshops

Work in Foundations
 Digital and distance volunteering on women in political and decision-making.
Civil participation in the area of sustainability.
 Survey field trip to the Riviera to know the status of Mayan women (poverty), education level and occupation (bass), and the level of environmental consciousness (high).
Contact with local and international organizations to shape this project.
 Partnership and involvement with business women and non-governmental organizations for the rights of women.
Mentoring Assistance through the Cherie Blair Foundation.

The e-learning resources are characterized by put on center axis the Value Woman and be divided in Thematic areas according to the initial level of each participant and their interests
The service is free and clients receive a welcome change, counseling, education, new tools for participation, new contacts and personal growth.
A collaboration way is make a donation or buy products Maya Incubator.

Services Classroom / Workshop and Telecentre differ by being guided and directed to the Women of Quintana Roo - Mayan and neighboring communities.
Participants receive education, training and workshops looking to solve their problems and lead a culture change in terms knowledge of their rights as indigenous women and personal, social and economic empowerment.
Alma Abierta stands up like a creative, professional and swap space for
promote power ICT women, encourage the use of the contents to the economic and digital empowerment: blogs, online radio and TV, workshops entrepreneurship spirit, training and art.

The services and proposed Students Sustainable Tourism Program generate plus to Enjoy a transformation journey of different studies, mobilization, awareness, accelerator impact on inclusion and climate change like “hosts” students and tourists.
