To My Dearest Empowerment Mentor...

4th November, 2010

Dear Linda,

I am very excited and am looking forward to embark on this journey as one of the 2010 VOF correspondents and to have you as my Empowerment Mentor, as we journey together, and to get to know more about each other.
Thank you for your letter which I have received and hope this letter finds you well.

I would also like to get to know more about your area where you reside and come from and hope that you also learn much about my country, Papua New Guinea through my eyes.
I have been working as an IT personnel for the last 5 years which I find exciting and challenging.
As much as I love my profession, I have developed great interest in community development and issues and would love to branch more into that area, to help people and assist in improving standards of people’s lives.
Spending much time on the internet and being a part of the Pacific Women Mailing List is how I found out about World Pulse, and the site got me interested in the VOF programme.
I’m looking forward to learning from you to developing and building my voice, words (and actions) to be the voice for others also.
This brings a whole new dimension to the old \"pen-pal\" and we now become \"Web2point0 buddies\" from one side of the world to another.

Cheers to a new found friendship. :-)

Regards,

Carole
