#WinningWomenGoDigital - Digital Empowerment Training for Women

It's a beautiful Saturday morning and the women are gradually gathering at the venue of the digital empowerment training event for some women from the Living Faith Church in Abuja-Nigeria. The women came to the training with great expectations to learn basic technology skills that would launch them into the digital world and empower them to improve their lives, their work and their businesses.

The women learned about the Internet, Email and Online communities from the Intel Learn Easy Steps Curriculum and they were ecstatic to hear about the amazing World Pulse Community and the value it presents to connect them to women leaders from around the world, provide a platform for their voices to be heard while connecting to other women's voices on global issues affecting women, and also provides a platform for rich resource exchange of needs and offers. The women were also introduced the free online learning programs that they can engage to further build their skills and launch into digital changemaking in their communities and around the world. The women were so inspired and excited to sign up to join the World Pulse Community.

In addition, the women learned about the essentials of social media for small business. They learned about platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Whatsapp, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest and Google+ and how they present a huge potential to grow small businesses. The women were also advised to be careful to choose the right platforms and practices to improve their businesses and be deliberate to set goals for their social media use.

Finally, the women learned about mobile applications and resources and opportunities exchange platforms. The women were introduced to mobile applications like the World Pulse App which provides the women with a quick access to their World Pulse profile and other resources within the community. The women were also introduced to the Intel She Will Connect Digital Awareness App that helps women learn how to use mobile devices, PCs, and the internet safely and improve their daily use of technology. Again, the women learned about Facebook's Free Basics App that allows women with SIM Cards from qualifying mobile operators like Airtel and Etisalat in Nigeria, to connect to Facebook and other websites for free (not consuming data charges). The women got to learn about some resources and opportunities platforms that provide information about training, scholarships, fellowships, funds/grants for start-ups or NGOs and so much more.

It was a fulfilling experience as women, young and old were thrown into a frenzy, with bursts of energetic activities connecting to the internet, setting up emails, joining World Pulse, downloading mobile applications and connecting to websites with resources and opportunities to improve their endeavours. Some of the positive comments from the women were:

\"This is an interesting workshop and I learnt so much here, today!\"

\"I feel so blessed to experience this and hear about World Pulse. I have to enter this World Pulse and keep learning\"

\"I was at the women empowerment programme today and it was enlightening, thanks!\"

\"Thank you, my daughter, I now have my email and I am joining World Pulse in my old age!\"

Appreciating my World Pulse Sisters Ritkatmwa Gwan and Abimbola Olabisi for their tremendous support coordinating the event.

Yes, the winning women of the Living Faith Assembly have gone digital! Watch out for these amazing women! #WinningWomenGoDigital
