Introducing myself and my journal: Casa Verde- Know the World Now!

About Me:
I am on the Governing Board of a non-profit called Casa Verde. We are motivated by the belief that education is the foundation for true innovation and social change. Here you will have the opportunity to tap your full global potential. Everyone is welcome.

We are located in the Central American country of Nicaragua, in a little village called El Limon. Our U.S. headquarters are in Portland, OR and our volunteers and staff live all over the world!

At the moment we have 3 Core programs available for 2012. One of these programs is called Chicas Valientes and it focuses on motivating young women through sports and health. Participants would be taking on unique challenges in the promotion of positive social change; and in the process, get an unforgettable and possibly life-changing experience. Study the realities of social obstacles, such as teen pregnancy, in developing countries and the power that sport can have as a positive influence.
