About Me:



Cate Morriss is a Queensland based academic teaching and researching in International Politics, International Security and Feminist Theory.



She has also facilitated training in areas of gender inclusive peace processes and women's political campaigning for affirmative action.



She is also currently developing a training program for women that integrates creative arts mediums with human rights and empowerment training placing a particular focus on women and leadership. This work follows on from Cate's research which analysed women in politics in Oceana, including how women's engagement with the Bougainville peace process impacted on the political status of women.



Fiction Author:
In 2008 Cate published her first novella for children - 'Anastasia... a Journey'. This exciting new adventure novel combines her love of history with her curiosity about the 'pyrates' of old Ireland, in particular that of Grace O'Malleythe famous Irish Pirate Queen. Cate also holds a degree in Creative Writing and this publication is the first in series of young persons novellas that follows the life of Anastasia Adderely and her friends.
