Introducing myself and my journal: African woman on the platform



About Me:
My Name is Banda Nafula Catherine, a Bukusu by tribe from western Kenya and the founder of Women and Development (WODE). I was touched by the frustrations of divorced women and single mothers who were leading a miserable life and decided to act. Our mission is to restore hope and stability among women especially divorcees, single mothers and widows in Kimilili district through capacity building and entrepreneurship to enable them provide for their families. With a vision of having women entrepreneurs who are independent and self-sufficient.
Our main activities include
Training women in tailoring a course for six months after which women are empowered to hire sewing machines and use them as they save money to buy their own machines.
