Introducing myself and my journal: Kimpouo

About Me:
I am a cameroonian, national coordinator of the association for the wellbeing of women and families of rural areas (AFFAMIR), a cameroonian NGO created in 2002 in the municipality of Penka Michel, a very conservative comunity of the western region of Cameroon. Before the creation of this organization I am running since 2002, I got involved for the first time in development in 1997 as one of the founders of a cooperative of loans and savings that aims at facilitating the access of rural populations and mainly women to capital. But because money is not enough to get out of poverty I decide later on to create this organization which mission is to contribute to the fight against the structural causes of poverty through the promotion of gender equity and equal opportunties for all. Since then we have been working to create more space for women by enabling them to progressively fight for their rights, needs and desires. I will like to share through this tribune our experiences, fearing, hopes, struggles but also our small victories with the whole community of the members of Voices of our future!
