Introducing myself and my journal: My journey to equality in Leadership



About Me:
Sally Dura is 30 year old passionate feminist and human rights activist from Zimbabwe.



Since 2009, she works for the Movement for Democratic Change, a social democratic political party in Zimbabwe as Assembly of Women National Coordinator. Her work is on coordinating activities and facilitating campaigns and capacity development for the women’s wing of the party at all levels.



Sally is a holder of Bachelor of Arts Honours History and Development Studies degree, Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Diploma in Public Relations and currently awaiting results for her submitted thesis to complete Master of Science in Development Studies.



Sally is a member of the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe; she served as a Programme officer for Women’s Action Group and Women in Politics Support Unit. She has working knowledge and experience in working with women and youth nongovernmental organizations in Zimbabwe on leadership development, elections, gender justice, HIV and AIDS, Sexual and Reproductive Health, human rights training and advocacy.



She also participates in resource mobilization, psychosocial support and repatriation services for internally displaced people and survivors of political violence in Zimbabwe.



Sally is a Women’s Democracy Network member since 2009 and has volunteered as a trainer on leadership development workshop targeting women in politics held in Nairobi 2009 and South Sudan 2011.



Sally is a Board member for the following youth and women empowerment nongovernmental organizations in Zimbabwe: Real Agenda for Transformation Trust, Youth Forum, Savanna Trust and Women in Politics Support Unit, Women’s Trade Trust and The Girls Legacy.



Sally has serves as a Gender and Young Women Leadership consultant for Youth Empowerment and Transformation Trust, Youth Initiative for Democracy in Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe National Students’ Union, Students and Youths Working on Reproductive Health Action Team and National Movement of Catholic Students.
