Introducing myself and my journal: Directed Ramblings

About Me:
I am currently working through a graduate program focused on Security and Development issues. My thesis project concerns the ongoing Canadian military role in Afghanistan and the corresponding experiences of Afghani women. I have been a supporter of the World Pulse movement from its beginning but have never felt like I had a \"reason\" to join this site... am now really wanting to open up my research to incorporate a more balanced and wide-ranging opinion base. While I greatly respect the profs involved in my education, they are all male and I need to get more of a female voice! I am toying with ideas of first-hand interviewing and observation as I want to examine the various roles women play in Afghani culture and how those roles have changed and the issues they face. Any thoughts or guidance would be most appreciated!

My Passions:
Travel, reading, dancing, running

My Challenges:
Social life? While in school??!

My Vision for the Future:
The public masses understanding global issues as they truly stand and not as dictated by the power players of the world.

My Areas of Expertise:
International Relations, Current World History
