Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I was born in New York, in the United States in December 1963, just after President John F Kennedy was assassinated. I am the eldest of four children in my family. When I was about 7, my teacher noted that I was quite bossy. My grandmother made it possible for me to go to Boston University. I studied international relations and graduated in 1983. Then she helped me go to law school in Miami, Florida. After I graduated in 1986, I began a career in public service. I taught legal writing at the law school for several years. Then for 15 years, I worked as a court-appointed lawyer helping people who had been charged with major crimes and reviewing convictions for human rights violations. In 2006 I moved to The Netherlands to prosecute international war crimes and crimes against humanity.

I am mother to two sons. I have been married for 25 years. I'm a great cook and can make a delicious meal from just about anything I can find in my kitchen. I love to quilt and knit. I ran my first marathon last year in Rotterdam. I am also a triathlete. I competed in a Half Ironman race just this last September.

I believe that we can together accomplish more than any one of us alone. I believe that within each one of us lies the answers to our life purpose and the deep questions asked of us. We are blessed to walk a solitary road together.
