Introducing myself and my journal: Shift is happening!!

About Me:
As I mature and think about my personal life challenges, I am humbled and grateful that I have been able to overcome them. The truth is, they have been very minor, by comparison. Going through a divorce, losing a home, to name a few, is almost an everyday occurrence now. Of course, at the time, I thought my world would end.

My world did not end. I am bolder. Stronger. More determined. I laugh at myself more. I am alive, and ready for more challenges!

Years ago when I hosted a radio show called \"A Woman's Place\" on Community Radio, my eyes were opened to so many experiences of others, that I was previously ignorant of. I was heartened by the sisterhood that existed, and it had nothing to do with the \"Women's Movement.\" It was merely a recognition, an acknowledgment that there is something special about our roles as women. There is a bond, an interconnectedness, a space from where, if we so choose, we can be together to support, uplift, nourish, hold accountable, and to simply love each other. It is a place like no other. A place I honor.

Let's not be pollyanna-ish about it. There are still women who believe they can continue to emulate men in the same outmoded, way of doing business and be successful. If success is simply about making money, they have missed the boat! If they take time for deep reflection, they will recognize that true success is so much more than turning a profit.

When I used to hear the term \"sister,\" it would make me cringe. I disliked being called that by some stranger, when I have three biological sisters. I now know, accept and agree that to be called \"sister\" is truly meaningful. It calls me to task. It calls me to step up to the plate, It calls me to be responsible. It calls me to be caring. It calls me to be respectful. It calls me to be honorable. It calls me to make a difference. It calls me to matter.

If any woman, anywhere in the world is subjected to any injustice or abuse, it is my responsibility to do something to change that. It is no longer ok to expect someone else to do it. Every single day I have to be vigilant in my speaking, my behavior, my actions, my spending, my voice. I have to be mindful that the values I hold dear, and the vision I have for myself, my children, my grandchildren, my community and the entire planet is in synch.

As a life coach, I seem to attract more women clients. Even the women who on the outside seem to have it all together, are hurting. They are hurting because they are feeling the pain of each of our collective wounds. The hearts are open to finding solutions that's more than a band-aid. We are all hungry for true healing.

Healing begins first with the individual, and then stepping slightly out, we heal each other. When all is well in my world, then I can give more freely to your world, and together we can enjoy the world we have created. It's a choice. Choose wisely. I hope the world we create is a perfect gift - a foundation for the next generation to build on
