About Me:
I have been committed to affecting positive social change in my community for the last ten years through my political activism on college campuses and in the Portland community. My passion for activism and advocacy began in 2002 when I worked as a Student Advocate in the Women's Resource Center at Portland Community College through the Women's Leadership Program. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and completed a Master;s degree in Conflict Resolution at Portland State University in 2009. My thesis focused on sex work and moral conflict and incorporated the participatory action-based research method, Photovoice. Since then I have developed an interest in the use of photography, film, and social media in social science research and as a form of activism and community-building. I currently work as a Domestic Violence Response Advocate for the Raphael House of Portland.
