A Must See Film>> What A Way to Go: Life at the End of Empire

I saw a v. powerful movie last night about the unsustainable and destructive nature of western \"civilization.\" It reminded me a lot of David Korten's book, \"The Great Turning\" and Michael Lerner's \"The Left Hand of God.\" Basically they both talk about the pathology of today's consumeristic society. It's also along the same vein as Gore's \"Inconvenient Truth.\" They all talk about the end of Peak Oil, Climate Change and Mass Extinction. And while I haven't read Paul Hawkins book, \"Blessed Unrest,\" I'm sure all 5 men I've mentioned here are reaching the same conclusion: that in order to right the trajectory of humanity one has to start with self-- and by going inward to listen deeply to our better selves, souls, inner wisdom, etc. They all in one way or another allude to allowing the feminine back into our psyche, our consciousness. They all agree that the culture that we live in can only thrive in the disconnection of ourselves from each other, nature, mother earth, the universe, etc.

I think its weird that these five men can say basically what many women before them have said, but I guess that's why people are listening finally. It's that we are hearing the message from an unintuitive source: the middle aged white male. Well, what ever it takes to wake us up, I'm all for it.

Just remember, women, we are the leaders we've been waiting for . . . and now I think that many men have been too. Hell, I think they're counting on us.
