Reconstructing the social fabric!

This past September 14th in La Paz Baja California Sur hurricane “Odile” touched land. Ten days after Hurricane Odile destroyed with the city of Los Cabos, the population starts to return to normal life slowly. Little by little basic services are re-established: Electricity, Potable water, Internet.
Cabo San Lucas, BCS - Sunday September 14 will be remembered for a long time by all that lived in Los Cabos. That day, Hurricane Odile, arrived to Los Cabos between Category 3 and 4, destroying almost 40% of what it found in its path. Afterwards, another much worse “cyclone” arrived; it was a “human cyclone” that destroyed the businesses that have been damaged by the hurricane, and ended up destroying others that have not been touched by Odile’s winds.
Hurricane Odile, Yes Hurricane Odile was surprising, for the amount of damage caused, the “human cyclone” was impressive. Never before have you seen in Los Cabos so many electricity poles thrown on the street like if toothpicks would have scattered outside of its box. But also – never before -, a “tidal wave” of people willing to loot the businesses have been seen, with broken glasses just like the others that had unbroken glass. Delinquency owned the streets and from here I can say that moments of terror and uncertainty to a great scale were lived, and while I saw all of that I did not stop thinking: “Good-Bye Paradise… Los Cabos has died! “
But it does not stop there, but more than 1 month after Hurricane Odile, I can say that it was a necessary evil for the South Californians, because the federal authorities that acted quickly took charge of getting back Los Cabos into its feet, now what is difficult is to reconstruct the social fabric and walk with firmed feet. The Workers and Peasant Revolutionary Confederation (CROC) has done a very important role in BCS its national leader Senator Isaías González Cuevas immediately reacted to such lamentable fact with water, milk, diapers, food, blankets, clean up days, collective transport, cargo transport to pick up debris. But what really surprised me was the fact that Isaías González Cuevas found out that Odile also left unemployment, desolation, despair, hunger, sadness... and he decided to take charge to create auto jobs for all of those families that lost their patrimony. He did not give them the fish; he taught them how to fish! The program “Domestic technologies\" where house wives, husbands and children are taught to prepare antibacterial gel, mosquito repellent and prevent dengue, chlorine, fabric softener, bracelets, necklaces, sandals, also food such as; donuts, bread, candy, apple with chile, soy milk to mention a few. All of this is with the goal of generating and promoting the auto employment and those that are interested have the possibility of another option to acquire money for the house since there are complete families unemployed. With these actions I feel good, even though there are many more things to do as authorities and a society in special in the human rights topic that is what I work on as civil advocate and believe me that the situation is really difficult, here authorities do not do anything, but nothing! I will be telling you how it goes in different cases that are outrageous. The only thing that I still have to say is that I am living a unique experience, I have been 20 days already supporting at La Paz, being part of that reconstruction of social fabric!!
