POWER IN OUR HANDS

When I think of web 2.0, I think of sharing, interaction communication and power, power for the women to pool themselves together and change their world through interaction to strengthen their political participation and talk about gender- based issues. Has there been anything more exciting than web 2.0? In my view it is the best that has happened to this generation, talk of blogging, message boards, networks and so on.
At the global stage, web 2.0 offers an opportunity for women around the world to connect with each other, share information and offer solutions to problems that affect them. It enables them (women) who were once silenced and isolated to come together, join hand share and amplify their voices to the world, lift each others and lift others around them.

I think of the woman I was before world-pulse and in many ways I am amazed at the transformation. Before world pulse, I was fearful, timid and full of anxiety, breaking into tears every time I thought of my childhood, but once I joined world pulse and plucked enough courage to write the story of my childhood abuse under the tag “of childhood and pain”, I have felt at peace, not because of anything else but the encouragement I got from other pulsers to get the story out when I first introduced myself. I have read other pulsers stories and these add more strength to my life, I no longer feel like I am alone in the world, like nobody loves me, because I know I only need to log on to World-pulse and see other posts and I pluck the courage to face each day, to hear the voices of other women and I know I can take the world despite my childhood pain.

Web 2.0 has given me the opportunity to have my voice heard!
