Introducing myself and my journal: Global Service and Leadership

About Me:
My name is Desiree Adaway and it’s great to meet you. I help to change people’s perception of the poor & marginalized -and in doing that help people change their perceptions of themselves.

My life’s mission has always been to lead a life centered on the principles of community building, character and leadership development, empowerment, integrity, interracial/inter-ethnic communications, and excellence among people. I am a visionary, I’m intuitive and I believe, 100% deep down in my DNA, in the transformative power of service and laughter. have been a non-profit professional for 20+ years and a mom for almost 19. These are two important facts about me. I am lucky enough that for my career I have years of experience in designing and managing innovative programs domestically and internationally that achieve organizational goals of raising funds, raising awareness, and increasing volunteers for organizations. Working with some of the most innovative, committed and fun people on the planet for causes I truly believed in has been some ride.

My Passions:
I KNOW that we should care enough about people’s lives to risk our own creature comforts, to take a stand- no matter how controversial or complex.

My Challenges:
Not enough hours in the day!
