Introducing myself and my journal: A Journey of Discovery and Self-Worth

About Me:
My name is Jen and I am completely new to this network, but am anxious to learn about what's going on with the women of our world! I became enlightened about this movement on my way to school one morning. When Jensine Larsen came onto the radio and began explaining the mission of World Pulse, I stopped channel surfing and tuned in. All I can say is I want to join in and take part, talking, listening, and learning all I can.

I am currently a student aspiring to become a Sports Psychologist, hoping to ultimately take my knowledge and apply it to girls and women with eating disorders as well as other psychological ailments in the sports realm. I love the mind and find it both frightening and beautiful at the same time. Human beings hold the capacity for so much and it all begins with the mind: a single thought or idea. How amazing is that?! An idea can lay dormant for years and never come to fruition, but by the power of something so simple as a nudge in the right direction, a kind word, the open arms of another, a sign or event, that idea can grow and flourish into a living and breathing organism, changing the world around it! And that's how I view this network. It is a living thing that ties so many of us women together and unites us in a bond that has never been created or thought of...until now.

It's time to stop the pain and abuse! It's time to engage women all over the world and show it what we are made of! We are kind, nuturing souls by nature, but have a fierce fight within us that cannot be rivaled and will not be smothered by the injustice and evil of the world. We are sisters. We are a family. We are one and will not stop until every one of us is heard!

My Passions:
Psychology, Health and Wellness, Empowering others to believe in themselves and their innate abilities to inact change within their lives as well as the lives of others. On top of all of that, I love nature and am obsessed with the ocean!

My Challenges:
Procrastination, my own thoughts, and negative people that don't believe in the power of a dream.

My Vision for the Future:
I envision a world of equality, justice, and love. This world is far from perfect and will never achieve the perfection we want, but it's a creation of God and I believe we can do great things to this world.

My Areas of Expertise:
I am a health and fitness enthusiast, a swimmer, a writer, and a good friend. I believe I have the gift of listening to others and serving them in a way that helps them deal with life's stressors and solve many of their ordeals.
