About Me: I am a survivor of both physicial, mental and emotional abuse. It is my goal to assist as many women, teens and girls to avoid some of the pitfalls I did. I believe that some of the trauma that happened to me was a direct result of the lack of a father in my life. I had to learn how to regroup and seek learn how to define myself. It was through the efforts of searching the internet, reading self-help materials and combination of various tools that I pulled myself out of the depression that I was in.
My goal is to assist others to learn to empower themselves and others. Therapy is great when one can get it but there are many people who are capable of working through their problem if they have the tools. I provide access to internet with loaner computers at Wi-Fi areas for women/teens who do not have one; allowing them to search for jobs, resources and/or make connections. I assist with third party communication for those who have been in abusive relationships and want to stay in touch with friends and family but unsure of if they can trust them to keep their location secret. I act as the go between with having mail, emails, filtered for them.
It is my goal to one day be able to open a internet cafe, bookstore type location for people to come to get assistance or provide self-help for themselves, recognizing that with just a little help they can help themselves. Learning to recognize, respond and refer to whatever need that can be determined from interacting with individuals via in person and/or social media.
