Reproductive health,, challenge in developing countries (2)

When I started my work with one of the INGOs in IDPs camp in Darfur, I know that
This will be veeery informative experience,,, I am started as medical doctor in the clinic
In side the camp, during which I saw what I can called taboo, as you may find some women
Never heard about condom before!!! And unfortunately,,, when I described it for her,,
She refused, even to carry it with her,,,almost all women in my area ,,,hate condom, too
Much, sometimes they believed that condom will decrease their sexual desire!!!or it may
Cause disease,,,I don`t Know what form of disease ,,these believes not just in small villages
But also in big cities , when I worked as medical Coordinator for VCT (voluntary counseling and testing) center for HIV patient in Khartoum, the capital of my country Sudan,,, where people must be on high educational level, unfortunately when am start to talk about condom ,,,no one heard, even some times I found many of it in some trees around the center.
I found there very ugly Female genital mutilation (circumcision) which made us suffer with all ladies during labour,,in which death may occur before the end of labor …Man there refused completely to share in any FP(family planning) session or even to come with his wife to give her support, also people there not Known what may transmit HIV and what may not ,as hugging or even sitting in the same room,,,even some paramedical never known about that, so no way rather than ,,,HEALTH EDUCATION,,,this may safe us and may give us chance to carry our communities out from many hazards.
Regards,,
