Development Through Education

After graduated from Asian University for Women, I have joined PEPY team on 1st August. I am working on Dream Management Project in Krolanh, Siem Reap, Cambodia. I will be teaching grade 9 and grade 12 students about different topics relates with dreams and how to make dreams come alive. I'm working lesson plan for some topics such as Dream Discovery, What is Goal?, How to set a concrete goal and Steps towards Success. I will teach them the topics, but right now I am also in the process of learning too.

I also have my own dream, and I am kind of try to practice and hope to be a role model for my students. I write all things I want, all the skills that I want to develop myself and how much money I want to earn, how much impacts I want to contribute to my society. It is very fascinating to keep track our small accomplishments and it will eventually form a big picture of my dream.

What I have learnt from my work so far is to get inspire by students and people around me. I have recharge my energy every morning and happy to start the new days. I hope that the career will help me to contribute positive impact to my nation. The main challenges that I have faced is the language problems. I have to teach children in my language and I haven't speak much of my language for five and a haft years. Therefore, I am practicing my language and try to plan a good lesson from students and also work hard on my speaking skills.

Another important challenge is that the organization is on going process to transition from International to local organization and a lot of programs are completed and new programs are launched with new staff so a lot of changes take place at the same time. I have to adjust with new situation and get used with the work.
