Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a single woman interested in teaching children about nature and the sensuality of nature, meaning, reminding all that we have senses; sight, touch, sound, smell to be used outside in the discovery of the world. In this day and age of computer technology and gadget overload, we forget about the earth, and how to "be" with her The rhythms of this planet have much to teach, if we listen.

I volunteer with the local Literacy Program in my county remembering that knowledge is power. We often forget something as simple and taken for granted as the ability to read. Illiteracy is epidemic in many communities. Imagine if everyone could read, understanding the issues of today, or simply being able to read instructions, etc. We might begin to make better decisions based on truth rather than false propaganda.

Finally, I also demonstrate that animals are sentient, loving creatures who have feelings and brains. I practice that with the help of my rescued pet cow, Daisy, my two dogs, four cats and one blind rabbit. Wildlife habitat gardening, and writing, are two of my most beloved passions. Love of all music is rests right there along side nature and compassion for all sentient beings.

My Passions:
Nature, music, writing, animals.

My Challenges:
Learning to listen to those with whom I disagree; treating those same people with respect and dignity.

My Vision for the Future:
Befriending someone is known to literally change the brain chemistry in the other person; in other words, demonstrating kindness and friendship to those in need can change the world.

My Areas of Expertise:
Wildlife Habitat Gardens, Compassion, Listening, Creative ideas.
