TRIUMPH OF KENYA WOMEN ATHLETES...A BIG RESOURCE FOR THE GROWTH OF THE TOWN.

'Eldoret is a town with the best climate in the whole world', so the early white settlers said. But one unique thing with this town is that it is home to the world athletics medalists-champions. this is why the wall on one of the training camps reads....'A home of Champions'. women athletes are among the champions that belong to this town.these athletes have unrecognized contributions to the Kenyan economy. out of their sweat, we get medals -Gold, silver and bronze. winning of Kenyan athletes has put Kenya as a nation on the global map, with excellent performance in long races both at home and away. it is befitting to celebrate our sisters who are not only mothers, wives, friends and leaders but serious investors in our country's economy. if you were in Eldoret town fifteen years ago, believe me you, you will find it completely different.many new and beautiful buildings, variety of banks, many shopping malls.... the town has more storey buildings that athletes own, and these building hosts many businesses among them banks, hotels, shopping malls, beauty centers, just to mention a few. we have many training camps around town that these athletes own.In fact, these training camps have attracted athletes from abroad who want to experience the beautiful terrain around the camps, as their talent is nurtured.at the same time, athletes are bringing on board -for training the young talent from disadvantaged backgrounds.Investment in education is education is another remarkable contribution that we need to thank athletes for. women peace makers?yes, they are not also left behind in this. one of Kenyan women has an initiative that promotes peace through athletes. this initiative sends strong messages to warring communities and in many ways bring down animosity in warring communities. I want to honor all Kenyan women athletes for the immense contribution they give to themselves, families. communities, towns, our country, and the world over. You are such a resource that we cant take for granted!
