Introducing myself and my journal: Gender equality: Is it a blame game?

About Me:
I am a young Ghanaian woman committed to promoting women's rights and gender equality. I enjoy reading, sharing experiences, mentoring and and making friends. I am married with two sons. I work with an African sub-regional gender and policy advocacy NGO. Our work focuses on four of the twelve critical areas in the BFA - governance, peacebuilding, poverty and ICTs. Coming from a general election which saw a reduction in the number of women parliamentarians (from 10.8% to 8.6%), my greatest concern now is to ensure that my country achieves the 30% minimum representation for women in politics and decision making by 2012. Any information on strategies to enhance my advocacy work is welcome. This training programme by Worldpulse is the best news I am hearing this year because my desire to improve my writing and networking skills has been answered.
