Introducing myself and my journal: New Wave Grrrl's Journal



About Me:
I currently work as a Policy Analyst at a non-profit organization, where I track and analyze policies that impact people with disabilities and their families. I am the founder of New Wave Grrrl, an information and resource sharing blog for women with a special focus on health policy, advocacy, sexuality, and women with disabilities. I am a freelance writer/ blogger and I contribute to several other political and cultural blogs, including The Political Voices of Women and The Literacy 'n' Poverty Project. I holds a BA in History from Marymount Manhattan College, an MS in Urban Affairs from Hunter College, and a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Disabilities from Rutgers University School of Social Work. Since 2008, I have served on the Board of Trustees at the Alice Paul Institute and volunteered as the Director of Policy Initiatives at the Younger Women’s Task Force of New Jersey.



My Passions:
Women's issues, health policy, social justice, disability issues, gender equality, youth empowerment.



My Challenges:
Saying "no"



My Vision for the Future:
Expanding access to health education and services for women and families.

Human services, health policy, issues for women with disabilities, comprehensive sex education for youth.
