Journal # 2: My Assets Map

I look forwards to carryout larger scale skill trainings and employment opportunities for the target needy women of my communities; their active participation in the development process of their communities and enhance their decision making power.

My organization- NLK has long experiences of skill training centers for training its target needy women. The training opportunities include sewing, embroidery, and hairdressing as well as computer technology. Each training sessions are three months, provided five days a week. Twenty-five trainees are admitted into each secession and are required to complete 240 hours of training before completion. Upon completion of the training, students are linked with local business (networking will be facilitated by NLK).

Prospectively, my organization has plan to link the training centers to Institutional IGA sought to be happen at its new building center at Addis Ababa, capital city of Ethiopia. The project is funded by Blue Pin Foundation (BLF) in collaboration with Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) Based in Canada, Toronto.

The will hubs all of the organization’s programs at one center. The center is intended serve as one stop shopping center and resources to improve the economic and psychosocial wellbeing of the target women. Community library, office use for NLK, skill trainings for the women, institutional IGA are among the major programs to be accommodated by the building center. Beyond skill trainings, the centers provide women, who have been isolated from their communities due to stigma, the necessary support needed to ensure they are successful within their business as well as their personal lives.

Though my organization, has the building and experiences of delivering skill trainings to the target women, it has been limited by financial constraints to implement for greater needy women in the communities. Therefore, this to introduce, myself and my organization and what resources we have at hand and what we need more to fill our gap and to realize our goals
