Don't give up!

I'm often described by my mom and sisters as having a big heart. Every time I hear about bad news going on in the world, I just get very sad, and even cry most of the time. I know that crying rarely helps, so I keep telling myself to smile instead of cry, to hope for change rather than give in to despair. This kind of empathy often hits my big heart the hardest, but it's the best way for me to learn about these things. I want to encourage these women to continue talking, to make sure they never remain silent and in the shadows. I know we can change this world together, through hope, patience, hard work. We are not alone, and I especially want to thank my mom and sisters for teaching me this.

My biggest worry when I joined this site was that I would sound naive and childish. Every time I read another sad story, I just start feeling that I'm a spoiled brat, a little kid who had no real idea what suffering was. But I have to constantly remind myself, that while people do suffer, my despairing about it will not help them in the slightest. Until I can actually get out into the world and help out with others who are working for change, all I can do to deliver hope is to listen to your stories, and offer a hug and words of encouragement. It is a small thing, all I can do, but I just hope for the best once I put despair and hopelessness aside.

Some people say that love will save the world, and they couldn't be more right. Love for people, love for work, love for equality and fairness everywhere. I love you all, and will stand and support your voice for as long as I live. Please, don't give up. You are never alone, and I am always an available ear.
